Post-post-modern literature for a world in need of clarity. Public Apology Press exists because we recognize the perplexities of our modern creative zeitgeist. We believe that the best art stems from a proper understanding of people being made in the image of God, and we believe that the distortion of human dignity is closely tied to the disregard of art, especially within the Christian context.
We acknowledge the stigmas associated with so-called Christian art and the ways faith has been used as a marketing tool. We recognize the need for art that challenges boundaries both creatively and terms of modernist thought. Art has always existed within a time and place and was never meant to be scalable. Poets, troubadours, and painters alike have historically strived to speak toward their immediate surroundings. We believe in works of depth, not necessarily of mass appeal (though we certainly do not mind both).
